EXPORT THE CERTIFICATE


To keep backup copy of the certificate or install application on another PC

Procedure. : Check the certificate at IE ---> Tools----> Internet Options----> Content----> Certificates



1. Select the certificate
2. Click on Export button. Certificate Export wizard appears
3. Click on Next Then In the Export Private key window, there will be two option buttons.
4. Click on the first option “Yes Export the private key”. click on
Next
5. In the Export File Format window. Select the option “Personal Information Exchange”
6. Select the option “Enable Strong Protection”.
7. Unselect the other options and Click on Next Type the password on both Password & Confirm Password

8. Click on Next Click on the Browse and select the folder where you want to save the file.
9. Provide a name for the file. (e.g. 12345678 where 12345678 is your client id)
10. Select Next
11 .Click on Finish
12.It will ask you for the password currently used. Enter the password and click on OK
13 The message "Export was Successful" will be displayed. Click on OK
14. Take a copy of this file on CD or any other backup media ( note down the password)

15. You may install the pfx file wherever you need and access the application.



IMPORT THE CERTIFICATE


1. This procedure can be used for installation of certificate or changing the passwords or to set the password
2. Double click at previously exported certifcate ( e.g. 12345678.pfx )
3 Certificate import wizard appears
4 Click on Next
5 File name will appear then click on Next.
6 Provide password ) ( it must be same which you had given at the time of taking export of the certificate)
7 Mark both options "Enable Strong Private keyProtection" and "Mark this Key as Exportable"
8 Click on Automatically select the certificate then click Next. then Click at Finish
9 Click at Set Security Level then select High click Next. Very Important step , Do not skip it
10 Provide your new password and confirm it ( Note : passwords are case sensative ) remember it
11 Click at OK you will get message Import successfull. Click at OK
12 Check the certificate installed in your browser as follows
13 Click at IE ---> Tools----> Internet Options----> Content----> Certificates
